Q: What is a semi-permanent lash enhancement?
This extra-fine semi-permanent tattoo is applied carefully and expertly in between the natural lashes to create the illusion of thicker, darker and fuller lashes without looking like obvious make-up. The area is numbed first for about 20 minutes and then the liner is tattooed right through the lash line. The whole treatment takes about 1.5 hours from start to finish. It’s a 2-step process that requires a touch up 4 weeks after the initial application. The treatment once done will last usually between 3-5 years.
Q: Does it hurt?
Anaesthetics are applied constantly throughout the procedure followed by cooling and soothing eye pads after treatment. Because I am using the very latest up-to-date digital technology and the tattoo needles are hardly visible to the eye, the feeling is often described as rather like a ‘tickle’ on the lashes rather than it be a painful experience. As with all my semi permanent procedures I aim to keep my clients as comfortable and relaxed as possible. It has been known for a lot of my clients to actually fall asleep whilst I work my magic on them!
Q: Who is suitable for this procedure?
Literally this is great for everyone especially those with sparse, very little or gappy lashes. Thicker lashes accentuate the beauty of eyes and make them look more youthful. Whether you want to fake fuller lashes, or simply want to or have to go without make-up this invisible eyeliner treatment certainly has lots of appeal. No more “Peppa Pig Eyes” ~ as one of my clients describes her own eyes when she’s not wearing any make up!!!!! (Her words not mine!??)
Q: What other eyeliners are available?
There are two more. One is the classic eyeliner which is thicker and more defined and also includes the above lash enhancement technique. The next is the Latino flick ~ the bravest ladies will go for this! A gorgeous highly defined liner which is great for those who always wear they liner this way and do not wish to ever change their make up style or those who simply find it difficult to apply their liquid liner accurately. Please note that due to the shape of the eye these two styles my not be suitable for everyone ~ without the correct knowledge or advice regarding eye shape and what liner will suit, having the wrong style eyeliner applied will not look good.
Q: What do I need to do before the treatment?
As with any semi-permanent make up procedure the normal guidelines apply e.g. the client is not on any blood thinning medication such as Warfarin, the client is feeling well, has not consumed alcohol the night before and does not have any contra indications like eye infections or conditions. It is a very good idea to actually have the lashes tinted or LVL’d about a week before treatment as for the first two weeks you should not wear mascara just whilst you’re healing.
